Dorogomilovskoe Cemetery, on record since 1771, at that time it was located between Dorogomilovskaya Turnpike and the Ring Road. From here, in The Master and Margarita, Azazello and the witch Margarita head to house 302-bis for Satan’s great ball. Dorogomilovskoe Cemetery has not survived through to modern times – in the 1940s it was dismantled in accordance with the plan for the reconstruction of Moscow.
Bulgakov mentioned the Dorogomilovsky District in the essay, Forty Forties: ‘My first panorama was in the thick darkness as I came in in the Moscow night.
